Busy time of year!

Wow, I think that trying to start up a new online career has been very difficult with the holiday season upon us. I have been so busy around the house that it's been very hard to find time to keep up with my writing. I have published a couple more articles though. I guess I hope to have 15 eHow articles done by January. Right now I have 9. I'm not sure I'll have time to accomplish this goal. Oh well, start small is what I have to do right now. That's what's so great about working from home doing freelance work. You can do as much or as little as you want, when you have the time. No boss breathing down your throat. I guess I'll just be happy with whatever I'm able to accomplish and whatever money I make. So far my surveys have been paying fairly well in the last few months so I'm pleased with that. However, my hope is to end survey taking in favor of writing full time. But there's so much to learn about being successful. I really am a newbie!

Tuesday

I managed to sneak in a quick ehow article this morning. Yesterday I was able to tweak my existing articles so that when I search randomly for my topic on Yahoo, my articles are now the first links that appear. I am so pleased to have gotten down the basics of SEO so quickly! I just need to keep researching and learning more and more ways to promote my articles. I really want to make this work. Once I have a good number of articles published, I'm hoping to move on to other writing sites and also other ways to make money online. So far surveys and writing are my only options but I'm hoping to eventually give up my survey days for good. Maybe in 2009!

I'm back!

I just got back from a trip to my in-laws for Thanksgiving. It was a good break from the computer, but now I'm ready to start making more money online! After I get the house in order, I plan to start up again and write several articles for ehow this week. I was happy to see that I made my first earnings with ehow last week. I can't wait to watch it grow!

Learning New Tips

Yesterday I joined a few of the groups on ehow and got some good ideas about how to categorize my articles, etc. After changing my articles up a bit, today I woke up to find that my page views drastically increased overnight. How exciting! The more I explore online writing, the more I realize just how much there is to learn. But I'm excited about how it's all going, and I can't wait to end the sickness in this house and have the Thanksgiving holiday over, so I can delve back into all of this next week. Until then, I'm off to enjoy my kids and eat way too much turkey! Happy Thanksgiving!

Monday is here again

I spent the weekend doing some Christmas shopping and tending to 3 sick kids. I did not accomplish anything WAH wise, but I did do some more research on how to pick keywords. Today I wrote another ehow article and am proud of myself for accomplishing at least that much today. I'm off to wipe a runny nose...

On Track This Week

Yesterday I had my first Associated Content article published. You can read it here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1205492/top_2_board_games_for_toddlers_and.html
I also wrote another ehow article this morning, for a total of 4 published articles there in the last week. Pretty good for my first week writing. I will likely take a break over the weekend and start up again with fresh ideas on Monday.

My First Post!

I've been wanting to start a blog for a long time now, and I'm finally doing it! I have been trying to find work from home opportunities for the last two years, and now I want to blog about it. I started with taking free online paid surveys almost two years ago. Although I've had some success with these endeavors, it just hasn't been enough to call it real "income". So now I'm starting on a new horizon, freelance writing. I began writing e-how articles last week, and I've had 1 article published on Associated Content. I have high hopes of making a significant cash flow through my writing over the next year, and I plan to document my progress on this blog. So here goes! Wish me luck!
